The Philippine Drum and Lyre Associates Inc. (PDLAI) was founded with a clear purpose: to elevate the drum and lyre movement in the Philippines from a school-based activity into a nationally recognized performing arts discipline rooted in excellence, discipline, and cultural pride.
What began as a community-driven initiative among educators, instructors, and performing groups has grown into a structured organization that now serves as one of the country’s key platforms for marching arts development. PDLAI was built on the belief that music, movement, and performance are powerful tools for shaping young leaders—instilling discipline, teamwork, and artistic expression.
Over the years, PDLAI has become a unifying force for drum and lyre corps, majorette ensembles, and marching units across the nation. Through organized competitions, training programs, and adjudication systems, the organization has helped raise performance standards while preserving the unique Filipino identity of the marching arts.
Today, PDLAI continues to expand its reach and influence, bridging communities from local schools to national stages. It remains committed to nurturing talent, strengthening artistic education, and providing opportunities for performers and instructors to grow within a structured and inspiring environment.

The Philippine Drum and Lyre Associates Inc.
